Become an Ambassador

Do you want to help raise awareness for the fight against human trafficking and impact those affected?  Would you like to organize a team in your community to create handmade gifts for survivors?  Do you know of an organization in your area you could partner with?

Become an Ambassador.

Beginning in 2018, Mandi’s Makings will be launching our Ambassador Program.  This is a way for you to become more involved in the fight against human trafficking, raise awareness and give back to survivors in your own backyard.

Our mission is “to raise awareness for human trafficking and provide handmade gifts to survivors of human trafficking, to remind them they are handmade by God.”

In order to move forward with this mission and make more of an impact, we believe YOU are the answer.

What does the role of a Mandi’s Makings Ambassador look like?

You will be responsible for CONNECTING with a local organization, GATHERING your community and GIVING handmade gifts to survivors of human trafficking.

CONNECT

Reach out to a local organization in your community that is already impacting those affected by human trafficking.  This could be a local shelter or outreach team.  The goal isn’t to recreate the wheel.  We want to partner with organizations that are already established and reaching survivors, and help expand their reach through handmade gifts.

GATHER

Gathering together is very important.  We can’t do this alone.  As an Ambassador, you will plan a quarterly gathering for people in your community to create gifts for survivors - family, friends, bible study, youth groups, kids sports teams, etc.  This will help raise awareness by sparking conversations and allowing people to ask questions as they create.  Everyone will have an opportunity to learn more and become more connected around a shared mission.

The items you create will need to be useful to either the survivor or shelter you partner with.  (For example:  Crochet/ Knit hats for survivors during the winter, Bracelets to give to survivors when they arrive in the shelter as a welcome gift, sewing curtains for the shelter to help make their place feel more like a “home”.)

GIVE

Once you and your team have created your gifts, contact the organization to set up a time and date to deliver the items.  Some shelters may be in a secure location for the safety of the survivors, so you may not be able to deliver directly to the shelter.  That’s ok!   Plan accordingly with the shelter you partner with.  Remember, safety is most important.  If you do have a personal connection with the organization and feel comfortable, you can meet at a coffee shop, restaurant, etc. with your team and someone from the organization.  This will allow your group to learn more about the mission behind the organization.

What will you receive as an Ambassador?

*  Access to a closed Facebook group.  Here you will connect with other Ambassadors, learn about other shelters we are partnering with and get ideas on handmade gifts to make for survivors.

*  Access to tags for survivor gifts and other files to help better equip you as you move forward and raise awareness.

*  Entry into drawings for handmade gifts from our team and supplies to make gifts for survivors.

*  And, you will be part of fighting human trafficking ONE HANDMADE GIFT AT A TIME.

Most of us are familiar with human trafficking and know that no one is immune.  This is a small way we can make a big impact.

Mandi’s Makings began because our founder couldn’t allow this to happen in her our backyard without doing something.  If you feel the same way, we would love to have you on our team!
